My Opossum Investment

 Today at school we had a guest speaker, Armando Jimenez, a wood carver from Oaxaca, Mexico.  He hand carves all his animalitas and his wife hand paints them.  They all have such personalities!  I couldn't resist buying one.  I chose the opossum.  Yes, real opossums are creepy.  Yes, one almost made me crash my car one night by running across the road right in front of me BUT this one is so darn cute!  Ok, so my first choice was the super cool owl but my colleague bought that one before I saw it.  But overall I am happy with my very first art investment :)

1.  Today is a good day because   it is Friday and this week has seemed veeeery long .

2.   The best thing I did all week was   make some pretty delicious shrimp scampi for dinner on Monday  .

3.  The current weather is    chilly      and it makes me feel    annoyed because it was so nice and warm just a couple weeks ago. Such a tease .

4. The best thing about spring is    lilacs blooming (my favorite) and the smell of flowers in the air.

5. A fashion trend that I'm dying to try out for spring is  I'd still like to try to whole white pants thing but it still scares me.

6. A person who made me smile this week was   Fisch. He always makes me smile even when I am having a "blah" week .

7.  The most delicious thing I ate all week was   the shrimp scampi I made on Monday...seriously easy and delicious! Thank you Pintrest!  Also, all the egg salad I have been making from the easter eggs.  Why don't I hard boil eggs more often?.

Wordless Wed.- Spring Break Cruise Day 2: Nassau, Bahamas

     

When we woke up the first morning on the cruise ship we were docked in Nassau, Bahamas!  The day was spent exploring downtown, going on a sailing and snorkeling excursion (so awesome!), and dancing the night away at Senor Frogs.

Easter with the Mc Family

Yesterday, Fisch and I headed down to the Lake Geneva area to spend Easter with my family.  We took our first "lake walk" (there is a walking path all the way around Geneva Lake) of the season.  It is my goal this summer to walk the whole thing, all 22 miles.  I have done it once before but not in a few years.

The rock we are standing on is called Plymouth rock, a landmark along the path.  It is worn smooth by the many, many people who have climbed on it over the years.

Cruise Vacation Day #1

Back from vacation! It was a fantastic week of friends, sun, yummy drinks, all you can eat buffets, reading, and making memories.  

Day 1 included: pictures by palm trees, staying the night on Ocean Dr. at the Beach Paradise Hotel, a walk on the beach, boarding the boat "Majesty of the Seas, and setting sail for the Bahamas!
