Monday

Fisch and I went on his families annual camping trip last weekend.  I guess we were having so much fun that I forgot to take any pictures!  Oh well.

Here is where I will be today...and probably the rest of the summer.  This is one of my new art rooms.  I think I have some work to do before the beginning of the school year...

4th Annual Birthday Camping Trip

Last weekend Fisch and I went on my annual birthday camping trip with a few friends.  This year we went to Sweet Minihaha campground and tubed down the sugar river.

Like always it was a pretty crazy time...but it was mostly mother nature that was crazy.  Our first night there it rained, not surprising since it always does the first night on this camping trip but crazy because we hadn't had rain in a month and a half.  We think it may have been because of the rain that a big branch fell on one of our tents almost squishing one of our friends.  Talk about scary!  Shortly after, the raccoons came.  They preferred the spicy hot Cheezits and we were glad everything else was in the car.  The fun didn't stop once morning came when we woke up to a herd of cows on our campsite!  Apparently they walked across the river and couldn't find their way back.

The rest of the weekend was filled with summer shandy, squirt gun fights, and a 5 hour tube ride down the river (still kicking myself for forgetting my water camera).  It is a tradition I look forward to every year and hope it continues for many birthdays to come.

Turning Twenty-Six

Last Thursday I turned 26 years old.  It was a pretty laid back day.  Taught summer school in the morning.  Had the big fashion show for my UpCycle Fashion class.  I spent the afternoon reading in my new hammock from Fisch, relaxing, and shopping.  I chose sushi for my birthday dinner so Fisch took me to Muramoto at Hilldale.  We even lucked out and got an outside table.  I know I am getting older because there was no cake or candles...but I did treat myself to some mint chocolate chip custard from Michael's :)

Our 4th of July

For us, Fourth of July included 100 degree weather, a road trip to my parents house, a dip in the lake, a yummy bbq dinner, patriotic cupcakes, seeing my Grandma, and watching fireworks over Lake Geneva from the boat.  All in all not too shabby!

The Morgan's Come to Madison

Our good friends Megan, Shawn, Jameson and Macie came to visit us in Madison last weekend.  We dragged them to the Children's museum mainly because it is awesome and we thought they would enjoy it but also because it's one of those places Fisch and I always wanted to visit but felt it may be a bit weird without kids along.  Glad we have friends with kids we can barrow because the Madison Children's Museum was really cool!

Michaela's Music in Madtown

Lil' Sis was at music camp all last week in Madison.  On Friday we went to see her recital.  Fisch and I stopped for a pitcher before because it was beautiful out and Summer means drinking Summer Shandy outside on a beautiful day is a must.  Afterwards, we went out to eat at the Great Dane.  All in all it was a great Friday night, Michaela is very talented, and I absolutely love summer.
