WW: Engagement Photos!!
Fisch and I had our engagement photos taken, in June, by the very talented Bobbi Peterson of The Salty Peanut Photography. One of the reasons we chose her, besides the beautiful photos she takes, was her willingness to travel to the place Fisch proposed to me last summer, Pewit's Nest, in Baraboo, WI. Here are a few of our favorites...even though it is hard to pick just a few!
You can view more of them on The Salty Peanut website as well as Lemonade and Lenses!

Campin' Up Nort'
Last weekend, Fisch and I traveled 5 hours up North to Hayward, WI for Fisch's family annual camping trip. We stayed at the KOA campground. It must be the place to stay because it was super crowded but we had a great time nonetheless. We had fun tubing down a river for the second time this summer, playing volleyball with the whole family, and because it was "Chocolate Weekend", Adriana, their cousin, Andrea, and I even took a trip down the chocolate slip n' slide! There is also nothing better than waking up and sitting by the campfire with a cup of coffee and hommade banana bread :)

7 Month Recap in...8 Days: July 12th I turned 27
Ok, so I couldn't quite fit 7 months into 7 days. I didn't want to cut this post short though because my 27th birthday was pretty awesome.
It didn't involve cake or balloons but it did include a crown and an arm full of paper bracelets from my summer school students, a camping trip with friends, a tube ride down the river and even a surprise visit from one of my best friends, Megan, who drove up from Kansas City for the occasion!!
P.S. Did you know that you can put your smart phone in a ziplock baggy and you can swipe right through the plastic?! It totally works...until the zipper gets in the way ;)

7 Month Recap in 7 Days: July...
My Grandma died on July 1st. It wasn't a great shock. She turned 90 last Oct. and had actually been admitted to hospice once before in January. Being the feisty woman she was, she actually recovered and was kicked out of hospice. Unfortunatley, she became sick again in June and after that went down hill quickly.
I was very close to Grandma. She is the reason I will always prefer my brownies with nuts, I have a love of old TV shows, I will try to take my vitamins everyday, and I will know how to be a strong, fiesty woman as I grow older. Whenever I smell the scents of lilacs and lipstick I will think of her and smile. I love her very much and will cherish all the memories I have of her. I know she is in a better place now and will always think of her as my guardian angel.
Because of my Grandma's death, the first week in July was spent with family, cherishing every moment, celebrating my Grandma's life and being together for fourth of July. I think my grandma would have been happy knowing that she brought us all together.
