Trying new things...

  I have a list of things to try when I get bored.  

Yesterday it was hair chalking.  I saw it on Pinterest...of course.  Basically, you just take a chalk pastel, wet your hair (or the pastel which works better I found) and color a chunk of your hair.  

Kind of fun :)

Cruise Vacation Day #1

Back from vacation! It was a fantastic week of friends, sun, yummy drinks, all you can eat buffets, reading, and making memories.  

Day 1 included: pictures by palm trees, staying the night on Ocean Dr. at the Beach Paradise Hotel, a walk on the beach, boarding the boat "Majesty of the Seas, and setting sail for the Bahamas!

This is what we do on a Friday night...

On Friday afternoon, we received approx. 4.5 ines of snow here in Madtown.

We took advatage of the heavy, wet packing snow and made ourselves a snow owl :)

And it's still standing! woohoo!

Epic Sledding

Last weekend our friends Jenny and Steve, originally seen here, came down for a night in Madtown.  We took them sledding at Elver park.  We lucked out and actually got about 4 inches of snow on Friday, which made for perfect sledding conditions! And out sleds didn't break this time! It was, dare I say, legand...wait for it...dary!

Wordless(ish) Wednesday: Some Serious Sledding

Last Friday, we finally got a chance to go sledding at the park near our home.  There is this gigantic hill there that I have been wanting to sled down since we moved in in August.  It was pretty much just as awesome as I thought it would be.  We obviously need to buy higher quality rides for this hill, though, because Friday we started with three and ended the night with only one intact.

A 2 1/2 day weekend...

       Parent teacher conferences were last week which meant we had to be at school until 7:30 both Tuesday and Thursday night but we got Friday afternoon off... 2 1/2 day weekend! Woohoo!  The best part was Fisch took a half day on Friday as well.  We had big plans for our free afternoon but ended up accomplishing nothing in exchange for a big lunch at Laredo's (local Mexican restaurant) and a nap.  I'm usually not a big napper but oh man was it awesome.  We did end up going out later in the evening with some friends so we didn't feel like total bums.

      Saturday, one of my best friends, Brye, came up to hang out and do a little shopping.  We ended up going to the mall.  I usually don't go to the mall because it totally overwhelms me and I'm cheap but it ended up being so much fun. 

 We tried on funny hats at Charming Charlie, went on a mini shopping spree at Forever 21, got Gloria Jeans (Oh so bad for us but oh so good. Yes, I opted for the whipped cream and sprinkles.   No, I didn't have time to take a picture before chugging it down),and I got to hear all about Brye's theory that Build-A-Bear is just taxidermy for kids.
     We also managed to stop at my favorite consignment shops, Platos Closet and ReThreads before heading home. We had fun there too... 

     The rest of the weekend was spent buying new tires, putting plastic over our drafty windows(winter is coming soon, folks!),and getting hooked on Breaking Bad.

Golfing...Mini Style

Last Friday night, Fisch and I went mini-golfing at Vitense Golfland with our friends, Josh and Aimee. BEST mini-golf courses ever!  Think Happy Gilmore style.  We are definitely going back sometime and not just because we won a free game on the last hole.
